I'd recommend getting the Xantrex prowatt inverter that bestconverters is selling, in the size that is appropriate for your needs (for me that would be the largest one)

Thanks for the heads up. I read quite a few horror stories about the 5kW unit. My kill a watt has shown thus one to be pretty solid at around 117V.
