Even if you have fat wire to everything, you can still have voltage drop issues through bad connections. IMO get in there with a meter point to point and see if there is a problem somewhere.
Your issues "do not compute" IMO, so something isn't right.
I can't say I've done the troubleshooting you're suggesting, but I haven't gotten the impression that it doesn't compute either. What doesn't make sense? I can run big loads on the inverter just fine. My problem is only when I'm charging right at the bulk/absorption setpoint and it is flirting with my high voltage shut down on my inverter.
