The draw doesn't spike, it drops. When I remove the load from the inverter (unplug the charger while it is still charging the laptop), it has a corresponding drop in draw from the batteries. When this is happening when I'm right at my bulk charging setpoint, the battery voltage experiences a short quick climb in voltage before the controller reacts to clamp it back down. It seems to climb high enough to trip the high voltage shutdown on the inverter. I witness the spike by watching the realtime voltages on the MSVIEW software that manages the Morningstar controller. Target voltage remains constant, voltage sense reading shows the quick spike before it clamps back down to the target voltage, but the inverter faults out during the spike. I keep driving the bulk setpoint down to try and keep even this spike low enough to not upset the inverter.
