Not sure test yesterday is quite right due to the controller seeming to settle on 14.4ish for the nominal 14.6 set point. Might have been too late in the day.
Before running the test I was in Float with approx. -9 AH to get to full. I knocked voltage right down with the microwave to fool the controller into returning to bulk and then do Absorption again. Which it did, results posted. Maybe too much turmoil in battery for getting good test result?
I also want to clear up how much of the voltage change is just between loaded and unloaded where the laptop is the load on the inverter.
Is there an extra spike when in Absorption? So today, starting out normally and will let voltage rise normally and catch it once in Absorption and run test again.
Meanwhile, to test the loaded/unloaded change at a lower starting voltage, here is the test on that:
Tri says 12.9v, 1.5a (it is very cloudy), -57.8AH
Meter on DC panel says 12.92 loaded, yank laptop 12.94 plug back in 12.92. So no spike there. Now to wait for voltage to reach Absorption (whatever voltage that turns out to be) Sun is forecast to come out soon.
Any suggestions for other testing I ought to do today that would help solve all this?
