Wow !!! The PD hater here on this forum will just love to hear that.
In reality, why don't you just put the caps back on your battery(s), and deep six your hydrometer. When you have a PD converter caring for your batteries, you don't need to check anything except the electrolyte level. And you don't even have to check that very often.
I usually just check it once a year at the start of camping season and usually only add a very small amount of distilled (water that is!)
