Helping with generators
I give UP. Two more post asking for help. But NO information on what they have.32 years working on RV units and I have never had this much trouble trying to help. I am leaving with the rest of the guys.

I think the OP makes a good point: People (including Moderators) who don't like stupid questions ought to "leave with the rest of the guys".

Mex, do you know what MAKE of computer you have, Do you know what MODEL.. The people who are like the person who ticked off the O/P in this thread can't even tell us the make and model of their generator.
Considering you can go to many stores and see half a dozen or more makes of generators and usually at least a half a dozen models in each line... (again or more) that info is most helpful.

Here's the deal:
Even armed WITH all of the information I find 90% of kind suggestions to be unintelligible. This is not THEIR fault, it is completely my responsibility. So rather than waste a bunch of bytes, people's time and patience, I'll haul the damned thing to someone that knows what they're doing and if the computer geek is talented with enough patience and a pry bar he'll eventually learn what it is that is seemingly dysfunctional with the computer. What I need to do is find a really basic book about computers and find out why three-quarters of the desktop icons now have the Mozilla Firefox emblem. I did something foolishly and I know not what it was. But I refuse to trouble people over something that is way over my head. Phonographs, tape recorders and typewriters - I have outlived my era of intelligence :)
Still, we try to help them... But there is only so much info that is "Generic". Like on Motor homes "If the fuel is below a quarter tank odds are the generator is 'out of gas' ". type info. But alas, often that's not all that helpful.- A serious suggestion: One of y'all Onan techs write a post about how important the proper information is to helping someone, and what's needed. Title it "MUST Read Before Posting Onan Questions". Ask (strongly) that the mods make it a sticky. If Honda generators and Dometic reefers rate _two_ stickies, surely Onans rate at least one!

- There are 14 different versions of the Onan NHE. Spec letters A through N.
- Yes you did say it was an NHE. But we need to know the spec letter. I am guessing you have a spec D or later. Covered in manual 965-0528. For every change made the unit gets a new spec letter.
Now for your problem. Sounds to me like you have a shorted wire in the remote system.I am going to your post. To post some things for you to check.
