Well, I am a RV Technician and have replaced a few and have looked inside them to see how they work. THAT is my basis for my comments. I am not aware of any RV that has a check valve instead of a standard P trap where there is room for a P trap. The flap(lip) valve looks just like the vent rubber sleeve on some motorhomes for the overflow for the fresh water tank. Doug
