If you compare, Hancock, Pirelli and several other top shelf tires are not cheaper than Michelin if cheaper at all.
I usually follow 2 ways, buy the best, or buy cheap if it comes with good recommendation.
Wife Mercedes is running on Chinnese tires that come with good recommendation. Low profile Michelin would cost about $1100 for the set, I got those for about $300 and 20,000 miles later they still look good.
Selling dealer said they should last 50k, I'll be happy if I reach 30k miles for the price.
