I'd suggest to have the suspension work done before investing in any tires, especially high-dollar, long mileage ones. If just replacing one to get by, buy the cheapest you can find.
Depending on the condition of the car, you may find that you still have a small bit of inordinate tire wear, even after suspension work is completed. I've found that is the nature of smaller, front wheel drive vehicles.
Heck, my BMW is still in storage because I can't keep rubber on the back. That, too, is about suspension. Unfortunately, the price of new shocks is more than I've paid for some cars and that is not all that is needed.
