For tires, make AND model do matter. I have a set of Continental's on my truck (can't remember the model) and they wear like concrete. I had a set of Continental's on a car I used to own (different model tire but same make!!!) and they barely lasted 10,000 miles. I find that tires that are in hotly contested categories (ie customers expectations are high) are the best. Those tires get the most R&D.
Is there a less-expensive alternative, or just Michelins? The original Goodyear tires that came with the car gave 22,000 miles service.
