A proper controller will not have to dissapate lots of energy as heat
The cheapo units do indeed heat up big time
Proper ones typically run in the very high 90's efficeincy
Get one without a fan (a mechanical device that does and will go bad)
The MS Ethernet interface is indeed wonderful if that is a feature you are looking for - The MS-TS-MPPT-60/150 is a 10meg aka 10baset interface while the the MS-TS-MPPT-60/600 is a 100meg aka 100baset interface - Not sure why they did not go gigabit aka 1000base-t
