I changed out my old Honeywell CT87 with the anticipator thermostat. I replaced it with an new Honeywell digital unit so we could add central AC later. The problem is that it now overshoots the set...

Switch the cycle rate to 3

Not that your opinion matters to me but I was not arguing with his answer. I was simply asking why he suggested it. Unfortunately people like you can read your negativity into anything.
If you have nothing better to do than stir ----, go post on TOBT.
