I can tell you from personal experience....
If you do pick the 1000 and you are dry camping, make sure you turn your water heater A/C coil off and make sure your fridge is set to propane (not auto). If you're taxing the generator to charge the batteries, either of those two items will surely trip it. Took me a few tries to remember I had left my water heater A/C switch on the first time I actually used my generator. Every time I plugged it in, it would show a quick 40 amps to the batteries, then trip overload immedately.
