This is a great post.
My EU200i has been getting hard to start and when I pulled it out last week it wouldn't run without the choke on. Then it stopped running all together. All forums across many sites universally suggested it needed a carb clean. I was a bit intimidated because I generally get things apart and can't get them back together. No problem doing this project which immediately solved all my problems. Took about 30-45 minutes start to finish. The bowl was full of nasty grime and it appeared to have corroded a bit from the ethanol/water.
There are a couple of excellent Youtube videos that will help your confidence.
Lots of people suggest Seafoam and other carb cleaners. While those may help, if your generator isn't starting or running well why take a chance of it clogging all together when you are miles from home. If I can do this anyone can.
I am looking for a source of O-rings for the fuel bowl. I'd prefer to always replace O-rings whenever pulling them out and they should be dirt cheap. Didn't have one for this quick fix.
