I regularly run a 3000 with a 2000 and am able to power a 15k plus a 13.5k ac unit. For this, all I need is the two parallel cable set sold for the 2000 + 2000 companion. I plug into the 30 amp receptacle on the 3000.
Three 2000's should easily run two ac units plus lights, tv or whatever, as long as whatever doesn't include a hair drier, microwave, toaster, etc.
I did purchase one of those three way things, thinking I would run the 3000 and two 2000's together but I really never needed them. After I bought the box they quit claiming that you could use the EU3000is in the three way mix. Now they only say it is for EU2000i and EU1000i.
There is nothing magical about this box. If you are handy you can make your own.
