My 2008 EU2000i Honda Generator sits secured in the tailgate corner of my truck bed which has a folding hard locking cover.
It gets used for something at least once a month so never really goes in the storage mode... Usually starts on the second pull of the cord...
Never used to notice folks before stranded in a parking lot until I started carrying my generator with me all the time. I seem to be getting folks started up now in parking lots where I am waiting for the wife. I hate shopping haha...
When I run down my truck battery yapping too much on my ham radio it is nice to hook up the 10A Smart mode charger and run it with the generator for 5 minutes to get me started again...
Just last week a motorcycle guy saw me sitting in my truck and walked over to ask me for a jump. So I moved my truck over to where his motorcycle was and hooked up the 10AMP charger to his battery and fired up the generator. That surprised him as he was expecting me to pull out the long jumper cables I guess... we got to talk for five minutes haha...
Sitting in the back of the truck I assume shakes the generator around alot as I never have any problems with the old gas gumming up the carb.
