LOW surge capacity? :h Honda's EU2000i has the BEST surge capacity of any 2K inverter genset currently available as it can easily maintain a full 2000 watt surge rating for 1/2 hour, primarily due to it's 20% larger engine. A Yamaha EF2000iS owner would be lucky to manage 20 secs at full rating, which is not surprising considering it's meagre 79 cc engine.
Agreed, the surge capacity is nothing short of amazing on the Eu.
A buddy of mine and I ran tests between our gens, mine Honda and his Yamaha. There was no comparison. The Honda out performed it so bad that he sold his and bought a bigger gen.
Also, I have an Ammeter so I can monitor current and I have cought my Honda putting out 16+ amps (rated 13A) without any complaint.
