Some of us have more dimes than others. I'd prefer to get the biggest bang for my dime.
If you are paying someone to troubleshoot, they would start with measurement, of course. They would also already have the needed tools to do it. The OP obviously does not have a clamp on current probe, so the $0.15 he spends on Formula 409 is, probably, less than he would spend on a meter.
Why send the guy out to spend money when it's most likely not needed?
