- rbp111ExplorerI looked up Honda on the internet and yes, they eu3000is has the electric start.
- samsontdogExplorerI have the EU3000 with the electric start. Do not have remote start. Great generator
- nevadanickExplorerRemote start and stop is an option, Electric start is standard, unless they have come out with a new one that i am unaware of.
- Peg_LegExplorerThe Yamaha EF3000i also has remote start as an option. A friend just got one in Jan. I could add it to my 9 yr old one. I could also make a hard wired version a whole lot cheaper.
- PauljdavExplorerI find it is not that hard to go out and turn the key. Not worth the $200 bucks for the remote.
- robert3ExplorerThe Honda EU3000is is electric start, but Honda does not offer a remote stater for it.
Other third-part firms do sell remote control starter kits for the EU3000is, but they are not endorsed and have not been tested or approved by Honda. Installing one on your Honda will NOT void your warranty. That said, if the installation or the kit itself is determined to be the cause of a problem or failure with the generator, Honda will likely decline to pay for the repairs.

Caveat: I work for Honda, but the preceding is my opinion alone. - mlts22ExplorerI do wish Honda would make a remote start. Of course, what would be really nice would be some way to tie an EMS and a generator controller, so when the A/C needs to fire up, it will start the generator, wait 15-30 secs until it is ready for load, then fire up the A/C. Similar if house batteries are getting low.
- evergladesgatorExplorerJust found this one for "auto" start in response to last poster. Not remote start like I was lookin for. I was reading a forum elsewhere and one responder stated he liked the remote start so I was curious if Honda was remote start. Not on it's own! So I will continue to go out and crank it up on my own.
http://www.wholesalesolar.com/products.folder/inverter-folder/magnum-auto-gen-start.html - BFL13Explorer IIOur EU3000i is ten years old. The battery died in the first year. Not sure why, maybe we didn't use the Honda enough. Since then, due to the high price of a new Honda type battery, I have just used the pull cord. Nine years later, no problem.
The Honda 3000 is in the back of the truck between the tool box and the hitch, and is covered with a BBQ cover. When I want to use it, I have to go out to the truck, remove the BBQ cover, plug in the trailer wire(s), and start it up.
What good would a remote start do me? I would have to leave the cover off no matter what rain, and leave the trailer wire(s) plugged in. Pretty hard to do since we use the truck all the time to go off somewhere.
So IMO for how we RV, remote start is useless and no need for electric start either unless the pull cord does not work. - 96Bounder30EExplorer III wish Honda would offer a factory electric start in the 1000/2000 line..........:B
