Honda EU3000is not starting with key

So I have an EU3000is that is 4 years old and about 12 hours on it. I have not used it in over 3 years but I have had a battery tender on it and started it about every 4-5 months. I am now done with my job out of town and preparing to go campong and it will not start using the key. Battery voltage was low after charging it so I figure the battery is shot so I replace it. Still not starting with the key. Not even a click. Pull starts on 1-2 pulls but i mean not even a click using the key. Has anyone run into something like this? I am pretty much down to taking it to a service rep.

Any ideas are appreciated
Greg

There should be two 5 amp fuses. One of them is under the front cover the other should be near the starter relay. Page 60 of the owners manual.

    Thanks
I had checked the one referenced on page 60. I will have to hunt for the other one you mentioned.

Well I thought I had checked that fuse but I decided to not trust my eyes and actually pull it and put a meter on it. Sure enough it was blown. Problem solved!!

    Thanks a lot

I did not mention that I have a remote start installed and it will not start with it either. I can turn it off with the remote but not start it. My thought is that it must be something between the battery and the actual starter since neither the key nor the remote can get the starter to engage.
  • Mine starts so easy with the pull start I gave up on the battery.
