Oh I'll remember that wire for longer than six months, lol. I think at least now I have a basic understanding of my 12v system, I just wish I didn't have to always learn the hard way ;)
There was obviously something wrong with how it was hooked up because when each was hooked up separately there was no problem but as soon as they were both connected, bam a ton of amps being pulled. Maybe it just needs a larger nut to contain the three wires? Any other way to hook the three together? I'd like to get it hooked back up even though I'm not sure what it goes to at this point.
Yea, I put it in line with the circuit by removing the negative cable and then putting the meter in between. It does in fact have a DC10A setting and it has a separate plug on the meter also.
