Hot Water heater question

You can also pull one of the black wires off of the gas valve solenoid located just above the 120VAC Electric ON/OFF switch on the outside of the Suburban water heater This removes the ground for one of the solenoids and no LP gas will flow if you accidentally turn the water heater LP switch on.

If your water heater is an ATWOOD then when you drain it for the winter.. There is a piece of foam that has the letters ECO adn T-Stat. on the ECO there is a RED Wire, unhook it. this will prevent operation If you turn on the switch it will fire up the FAULT light instead of either the burner or the electric element.

Unplug the wire to the electronic ignition. If 2 wire it does not matter which wire

It will not start if the gas is off... If it tries to light it wil just go to fault mode..

You can pull the fuse or install a battery disconnect..

I remove my battery's for winter and put on trickle charge over winter..

Suburban water heater is GLASS_LINED.
LP will fire off and quickly heat up tank. T-stat will open when it senses 130*F on tank wall.

So far OK.......
Let it cool down naturally and odds are good for no damage.

Turning on water supply when tank is HOT......shattered glass-lining. NEW water heater.no replacement tanks for Suburban

Open outside compartment.
Pull the two wires on gas valve solenoids. (BROWN)

Or pull 12V DC main fuse for Water heater....in DC Dist Panel

OR valve out Propane.....it can't fire off

I have for ever have shut the WH breaker off. Turn the switch for gas off. Your good to go.

I always put a piece of tape on the switch when empty to prevent damage.
