I think you are talking about the plastic nut that is tightning over the metal stem coming out of the tank. If this is the case, take the nuts off, and you will find a cone washer behind them. take the cone washere to an RV store / Home Depot / Lowes, etc and you should be able to find replacements. The nuts only need to be tightned hand tight to seal.

After staring at it for a while I disassembled the whole thing and found that the plastic threads going into the tank had no Teflon tape on them at all. it had been a slow leak for ever apparently. So I taped them up and no leak.
I bought this used and have been fixing little things ever since. thanks very much for your help. something tells me I'll be back.
