For over 40 years I made a substantial income proving your point. Classic 11-plate group 24 batteries have exhibited 85=AH capacity. An engine starting battery will NOT render fewer ampere hours when it is as new as this battery.
Batteries are measured at the 20-hour rate. Perhaps it is time for study as to the significance of the 20 hour rate :) as compared to a spurious discharge exercise. Lesson Plan: Extract 40 amp hours at a 10-ampere draw, then recharge and repeat using a 5-amp draw. What are the stop voltages after an hour's rest?
