Autoparts store bought cables are Horrid.
SAE wire is thinner than awg wire by about 15%, and the AP cables also use stamped steel ring terminals, with a hole drilled through them.
Corrosion prone and highly resistive. Here are some I cut off next to a quality 4awg thick walled lug purchased through Genuinedealz, who also makes custom cables for an excellent price:
I bet this guy can make you a top quality cable delivered for less than what you paid at the Ap store;
