Yes, let it run until it reaches 16v. You may even want to plug it in before you go to bed at night and unplug it first thing in the morning... no harm will be done to the battery in doing so.
The batteries got badly abused, and once done, they are truly stubborn to release all the sulfur to get your specific gravity back up, but that is what you must do. It can take time. lots of time. Just keep an eye on your electrolyte levels once you do get the specific gravity readings up.
This takes a lot of time and patience, but I can guarantee you this, once you get them back up to where they belong, you will NEVER knowingly abuse them again, knowing what you have to go through to repair the damage and loss of capacity, ever again.
Unless you are ignorant, or a glutton for punishment.
Just tell your two batteries that the punishment of high voltage and shock treatment will continue until either moral or specific gravity improves around here! Be the Boss!
