My Xantrex Battery monitor has the shunt just before the batteries on the groung side. I have it placed where everything from the converter charger, engine alternator, inverter, solar and my portable Vector 40amp battery charger go thru it. It's mounted at the rear of the MH by the step. I check it regularly when traveling to see the volts, amps and ah. Every stop, I don't shut the engine off and take a look before using the RR .
This morning, I will pull the batteries and check the volts and SG and give a another update. Then I will use my solar panel to top charge the batteries one at a time.
I will need to do a better test and draw the ah's down to 40 and let it sit for 24 hrs. Then do a volt/SG test.
