Yes, I am looking at a new Class A with Trojan 6 volt batteries.
Yes, on my trip last week, we never got down past -23ah and recharged with the genny or solar back to -5ah by days end. Only 2 days of that. Day one was full and traveling and day four was down -23ah in morning and -5ah when we got home.
I am thinking that maybe I should start up the generator while traveling when we are around 1 or 2 hours from our destination to make sure the house batteries are full or as close as the converter charger can get. The engine alternator isn't able to maintain the batteries at full.
From the looks from my log data, it's only 90%.
Both solar are able to put in 16volts at around 1.2-1.5amps. Running it in consecutive equalizations at that for 6 hours seems to really top them off, that's about 7 ah added. With 16 hours rest, the I get 12.75volts and SG from 1.275-1.285 from both batteries.
Today, the A battery was taken out of the MH, it got 3.1ah charged according to the battery monitor. It was placed on 3 consecutive equalization cycles of the 100watt panels and got 16.03 volts at 1.2amps.
Battery B was on the 30 watt solar w/o controller and charged at 15.86-16.04volts for 6 hours.
I will check the SG and volts tomorrow morning after they rest for 16 hours.
