My Winnie of similar size and vintage has the battery switch by the door at floor level. My batteries are easy to get to by removing one step.
It had a problem with the "battery solenoid" such that the house batteries were not being charged when the truck was running.
IF....you get the batteries fully charged.....AND get them disconnected during storage....they should be OK for around 6 weeks without any charging.
But a battery tender is better or a charge run of the gen about every 3 weeks.
EVERY RV owner needs to keep an eye on his batteries. A multi-meter is required equipment.
