This happened to me when one of my 4 6v batteries exploded. When i say exploded i mean it blew the majority of casing off leaving only the fins. I did not discover it until I had a mobile tech come to my mh for another issue.
He explained that the given the coach had been siting for awhile and the Batts where 6 years old and the coach was on shore power what likely happened was this.
Older batteries use more water
As the water gets "boiled" off from charging it creates a gap between the top of the water and the top of the battery.
The gas that fills the space is very volatile
Starting the coach can cause a spark or even turning on a light.
Boom
Moral check your water level, keep the tops of the batteries and the cables clean.
A fire is a real possibility in these events.
