Though we do not often talk about it batteries are also resistors.. That is they have what is called INTERNAL RESISTANCE. how much I'd have to research.. Hold on
http://www.sunxtender.com/IRISSBattery.pdf is a chart 1.2 millohms (.0012 ohms) per battery or .0024 for the pair. This means that a 10 amp oad will drop the voltage about .024 volts
Then you add the resistance in the wires, and the connections and everything else between the battery and the indicator panel and well.. it all adds up.
Oh, in addition as they age. the internal resistance GOES UP.
