i will say this
i could run a 100amp PF corrected wfco with a champ 2000
the 100 powermax would make the champ 3000 grunt hard
the champ 3000 had no problems with the wfco 100
so i can't say much more than i think the wfco PF correction is better than the PM version
as far as efficeny and power ratings
i size my generator for the biggest load i need to power
not specially for just the converter
even if sizing for a 55amp converter, i would want one more than big enough
i doubt a 1000w of any brand would run my electric chain saw
or my welder, or my circular saw
any one of these will draw 12amps or more
and yes i use these tools through the year
although it has been a while since i needed to weld anything
if i had a lathe and mill, i'd be the happiest guy in the Campground
if i ever win the lotto, i'm getting a dp with the garage in the back and turning that into my shop
