well, I guess I need to eat my words on what a honda 2000 can or shouldn't be able to do. We were camping a few weeks ago and not much sun, and the batteries finally got down around 50 percent 4 trojan T-125's. So I fired up the honda 2000 eco mode , 4,000ft altitude and turned on the 65A PD, hit boost mode and was seeing 60A into the battery bank. Then I thought, I wonder what happens if I turn on the PD45A in the WFCO panel??? Based on what the VA draws are, I expected the genny to immediately go into overload. Turned on the PD45 went into boost mode on it, Genny running full out, and the trimetric showed 100A into the battery bank. So it was , ok how long will this last??? well 30 minutes later the current started to drop, genny kept on ticking ran for another two hours still holding near 60A at the end.
Now, NOTHING else in the trailer was running off the 120V. and the EMS showed 120V going at the trailer input from the genny.
Now, would the genny run a single big PD w/o overload??? good question.
all the math and kilowatt data says this combo should NOT work with the honda 2000. I wish I had my kilowatt meter with me to see what the real VA, Current and power draw was with this combo. It probably would have either answered some questions or posed some more questions.
