ON requires your utility to buy power from consumers at the same price they charge for it.
If you install solar on your roof or in your yard, you can send your excess energy back to the grid for credits. Credits are earned for energy produced at the same retail rate that you buy it for...
That's unsustainable market manipulation which ignores distribution costs and profit. Fact is, generating renewable power (esp. solar and wind) is getting cheaper every year. That your provider has to raise rates because they can't subtract profit and distribution costs from what they pay for outside renewables doesn't change that fact, it just means you pay more because of government interference.
