I have repaired dozens and dozens of badly cracked 5 gal plastic water bottles this way and 3 years later customers claim no failures. Even for the two where a chunk of plastic had to be bonded. Wuuwee!
I suppose you are referring to goop GLUE as opposed to goop HAND CLEANER :)
