How do you adjust door latch?

Question

When shut, my entry door on a 2007 Allegro has about 3/16" slop in it and creates a constant rattle. I could just add some sort of rubber pads but thought i would first see if the door latch was adjustable.

When I look at each side, it is unclear which side I would work on or if adjustments are possible at all. Thanks for any ideas?

Loosen the hex at the end of the stud (door side) and it will move around in a circular motion. Tighten where ever you need it.At least that's how similar automotive latches work.

Could the door seal be tired and need replacement?

Maybe take it apart and inspect. Perhaps you can file the screw holes so the striker plate or latch can move a bit farther? Is that a screw missing in the latch?

X2 Scottg. As you adjust it be sure it's not too high or low which will cause it to smear it's way in and rub. Also use some spray lube and it should be very smooth.
