How full do you think your black tank really is?

Just a "huh" sort of post... The longest we've ever stayed in a CG has been a week. We're now staying in a CG for 3 weeks and it doesn't have sewer hookups so we're using our 18 ga. tote tank. ...

Ok, I finally got curious enough to drain and flush my black tank, and then fill it up to the floor flange with water. Draining it off into a 5-gallon pail, I refilled the pail 5 times, plus about half of a 6th fill. Given that I probably didn't have exactly 5 gallons in each fill, I'd say the total is really close to the published 27 gallon tank capacity. And my SeeLevel II monitor's display dropped below 100% as the first pail filled up as I expected it to.
