Hi Artum,
My solar system often sends power to the engine.
My isolators are simple continuous duty solenoids.
Disconnecting the starter battery from the alternator may be possible--but may also lead directly to a destroyed alternator.
I can (and have) run the roof air from the inverter/house bank/alternator. Then I see 70 amps--but I also see the starter battery dropping in voltage. When it hits 12.7 I shut down the solenoids as I have manual control over them in the form of switches.
