1. Do an energy audit of your usage. This will determine the battery bank you need.
2. Once you know the battery bank size you need figure on 120 to 140 watts per 100 Ah of battery bank. I find the 100watt per 100Ah rule is short on charging.
3. If all your camping is in the desert figure wiring the panels in series which will require a MPPT charge controller. If you camp with shade, East Coast, use parallel wired panels.
4. Get on the roof as others have said measure available space.
