How to dry wet ceiling insulation

Found condensate on inside of skylight dome over shower. Removed inside section and found insulation all around skylight opening wet. Don't know how long moisture was up there. Any ideas as to how to dry this insulation? Presently have a fan blowing air into opening and roof vents / fans open and running to move air around. Any other ideas???

Checked roof caulking around skylight and it looks good ... no hole, cracks, splits, etc. and feels like good adhesion to roof and outer dome. Did find areas between inner dome and it's trim without any stickum (could stick paper through space between them) ... possible source of moisture?

  • I turned on fan, heater and used dehumidifier - depending on space maybe hair dryer set on low?
  • Fortunately it will be fiberglass insulation and it will indeed dry eventually and be OK. The question is whether it will dry before mold or rot take hold.
