"Camping" means different things to different people...
With Quicksilver I demand a campsite where I could fire an .06 in any direction and not endanger anyone. Horsepacking, I don't even want to "sense" a neighbor for weeks at a time. But neither has a generator or batteries.
In far northern California there is a luxury RV facility in the redwoods that supposedly costs 200+ dollars a day. 18-hole golf course, cocktail lounge, and blue blooded snobs up the yingyang.
My cousins got @#$%^&!-off at me when I was eight years of age. They were from Scranton, Pennsylvania. They hooted and roared about going to the "Pocono mountains" to pick blueberries. "These aren't even foothills!" I complained. It was summer 1955 and hotter 'n snot (humid).
I learned at a very early age, that "reality" is based entirely in the mind of the beholder. So I am cautious when it comes to presuming the definition of adjectives. Like it or not, my lifestyle here is far more rugged than what many would consider to be "camping".
My definition of Battery Charger is a device that recharges batteries in a minimum amount of time. That isn't at all important with power pole camping. But fighting a generator run-time using a demented RV converter is not my bag.
Some thing to keep in mind. It's a basic formula. When one battery reaches a certain point in it's charge protocol, it may consume 7 amps. Use 4 batteries and that figure jumps to 28 amps. An amp hour consumed is an amp hour demanded.
To wit, when my monster bank is floating at one percent of amp hour rating it is consuming 32 amperes at 28.0 volts. This magnification has it's benefits and drawbacks with any bank formulation but regardless it should not be ignored nor dismissed.
