Here are some suggestions...
Infrared heat, heats objects. I see little value in maintaining a 121F ceiling. I close off the bedroom / bathroom area when temperatures are not to my comfort at night. Canned peas could care less for 70 degrees on a 100F day or a 45F night. Same with the bedroom. Why maintain it at 75F on a 45F day? I close it off. But for heating ME, on a cold day, the reflector dish heater works as good as a wood fired kitchen stove. These critters have adjustments to fine tune individual preferences.
I am fortunate enough to not require a hot house. I do realize a hothouse is principally maintained my solar heat. So I do not try and grow a four dollar tomato by expending personal effort. My interest in a hothouse was to try to grow orchids, which need tight temperatures and band of humidity.
A cheap hardware store timer can pulse heating of your hot water tank. I know I need hot water at 0700 and again at 1730 and lastly at 2200 hours. So I shoot the heater. Timers have on and off individual event settings so the early setting is for 17 minutes. A bit of trial and error finesses this to a very acceptable level.
I manage to satisfy myself utterly on <75kWh kWh per month. Personally I would find it difficult to waste time trying to figure out how I could increase usage.
