How to remove Atwood Hydro Flame wall thermostat cover?

I have trouble figuring out how to remove the cover from Atwood Hydroflame furnace wall thermostat. There are no youtube videos and if I force it, it looks like it will break. The manual just says to...

I imagine it would be fairly easy to add a remote switch. There is already 12v at the switch, you're only missing a ground.

I see, this thermostat got no ground...there are only two wires, R and W. Not sure where I would get the ground there without removing the wall. I got to see if there is any trick with this remote switch to get it to work without the ground
