How To Remove Glue

My new (to me) MH had decals plastered all over the back of it.
They ALL came off relatively easy w/ just a hair dryer, except that US map w/ all the stickers on it.
I don't know what is different about it, but the hair dryer didn't phase it one bit. I ended up removing it w/ a plastic putty knife,
but the glue is still there. Acetone doesn't phase it one bit. Anyone dealt w/ removing that map before, or know of a product that will remove the glue ? It will have to be a lot tougher than Acetone.

  • There's another approach worth considering - buy yerself another USA map at CW or wherever and paste it directly over the existing decal. Then, start your own map!!
  • 3m adhesive remover, local auto parts store, pricey, very effective, no damage or tattoos.
  • Okay, the first solution is very environmentally and paint unfriendly, but it will work wonders: Dot3 brakefluid

Second, spray a good coating of WD40 on the adhesive, let soak for five minutes, then use a plastic scraper to remove.
  • May sound too simple, but try just normal cooking oil. Soak the area, let it sit awhile, wipe it off. Then wash the spot with Dawn Dishwashing liquid to remove the cooking oil. Try it. It just might work. There's always gasoline too, or Turpentine.

I believe this is a Toluene, a heavy sh-t, so don't use it in confined spaces and stay upwind.
