Just an idea for next time seeing as how it is now out of the fixture. I had an issue with a bulb over our dinette. It would not turn and I was a bit leery of grabbing it much harder than I was. I found that the right sized cane tip would grip very well without the possibility of a bunch of glass shards embedded into my hand.
