Pulling together all the suggestions, here's my plan. Gonna hit it with PBlaster for a couple of days. Also going to order some Kroil online since everyone says it works like magic. I can see if it does on the other bolts. Will then try finessing it out (breaker bar, dead blow hammer, jack up the slide, etc). If that doesn't work, I'll go for broke (literally). If that doesn't work, I cut what is left off flush and drill/punch out (while cursing about why I didn't just do this first). I'll review all suggestions again to see what I'm missing. I'm sure I forgot something.
The suggestion to jack the slide up could be important. I wasn't seeing stress on that bolt but there actually could be a lot of leveraged stress and that plus the shank being too big would explain a lot. I wonder if the stress comes off if the slide is pulled in most of the way (i.e., just befor it lifts up at the end of it's travel). Btw, I did position the bolt in the reverse of what the picture shows so I could get a good whack at it. Now that I think about it, there could be torque on the bolt caused by the hydraulic pressure on the gear. I could try backing that off a little with the switch unless there's a better/easier way.
