I have only replaced about 2 dozen of those mechanisms. They are NOT shear bolts. They are MOUNT bolts for that flange gear assbly. Keystone DID NOT install it. NO OEM installs them. It comes as a complete assbly and is then welded to the frame. You MUST lift the slide to release the force on that assbly. I have NEVER had a problem getting that nut OFF and the shank bolt to pull out. Doug
This should be the part you need.

Doug, I'm confident now that all I need to do is lift the slide and I should be able to get that bolt out. In my mind I was just freeing up the cross arm to get both sides tracking tracking in unison. But you are saying I need a new flange gear assembly. Is that because of something you see in the picture? I'm able to get the slide in and out and so I wasn't sure that part needed to be relaced. I should order it now if it does.
There is a problem on that side in addition to what you might be seeing. The wear tab on the left is gone (not worn down but missing). There is rust on the inner arm, along with a lack of polishing from the wear tab, that I'm guessing means that wear tab was gone long before my incident with the slide awning. I think it jumped the track on that side and that's why the slide is not going fuly out on the other side.
So I need to replace wear tabs and now it's sounding like I need to replace the flange gear assembly. Do you concur and, if so, what is it you know about the flange gear assembly that I don't know?
Thank you for all your help. I'm assumimg that all I need to do to take the force off the assembly is jack the slide up a bit at the end of the arm furthest away from the assempbly?
As ever,
Bill
