Great link. I never knew a bearing could be damaged by static electricity and improper grounding. Tiny little arc scars.
As an aside, one of my uncles was a Master Machinist at Timken in Ohio for 45 years. During WWII he wasn't allowed to enlist. He had to stay and make bearings for Norden bombsights. Always night shift as the steel was cooler and more precisely machined.
