My choice was whole house.
I do have one outlet in the kitchen area that is powered by only the inverter.
Before I had the Magnum hybrid inverter I often used double conversion to allow me to use more amps than the shore power supply could provide.
I believe it is best to have as many options as possible so I use male and female plugs for connecting.
