I am still unclear which way around the white knob is supposed to go, but it seems the clue is that the writing is the "right way up" when it is in that position.

So MED would be at the bottom when MED is the right way up. However--that may not mean much! At least that is how the red knob works so there is a slight chance the white knob does too. :(
